We all know that although William is the first child Scully has given birth to, he's
not really her first child. During the fifth series of the show, Scully came
into contact with a little girl named Emily who turned out to be her daughter.
Scully's hopes were raised that she could become a real mother and adopt the
little girl after the deaths of both her adoptive mother and father. Unfortunately her hopes were cruelly dashed aside as it became apparent that Emily was part of the ongoing conspiracy and had been born only to die. It started with her high fever in the middle of the night. Mulder was carrying the little girl when he noticed a cist at the back of her neck. At the hospital they tried to destroy the cist and it turned out that it contained the toxic green substance like the bounty hunter. Despite Scully and Mulder's best efforts to save the sweet little girl she unfortunately died. I have never forgotten Emily and "Christmas Carol" and "Emily" remain two of my favourite episodes. Although William has happily come along to give Scully the baby she always longed for, we all remember her beautiful daughter who died at such a young age and in such a cruel way.
